..."My uncle and I decided to upgrade our 1970 'Cuda convertible to a stock appearing Hemi powerplant. I found Eddie Haines online while browsing the internet for Hemi engines. I saw the detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to doing not just a good job, but a GREAT job, in the engines he was building.
The call was made, and the project began. My uncle and I worked feverishly to finish up the car while Eddie built the engine. It arrived well packaged in a crate with it's own stand, and to our amazement, it exceeded our expectations. That is saying alot for two guys who take their restorations as serious as we do!
The attention to detail is amazing. It came broken in, ready to go. HE also did some announced 'upgrades' to the motor unbeknownst to us, along with taking a few extra steps and costs on his own dime to please his customers, and we couldn't be happier.
Nothing like turning the key on this showpiece of an engine, and hearing the rumbling idle of 426 angry cubic inches of the artistic awesome that Eddie has built us. Yes, we are happy campers indeed!...

..."I would like to thank you for the incredible job you did in the re- build of my numbers matching 426 Hemi documented by Galen Govier. I took the car out for its first drive yesterday and as expected, the Hemi ran perfect. The power and torque the motor is putting out is incredible. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. You made everything so simple and crystal clear. Everything went as you said and I would reccomend anybody looking for the best Hemi engine builder to stop looking. Hemihaines is definitely the place to go and you will be sure to be doing all my future projects. Thank you again, you are wonderful"...
..."If you want a Hemi, Eddie Haines is the best choice. I wanted a legendary 426 Hemi look and that is exactly what I got. I wanted horsepower and torque and that is exactly what I got. (My Hemi performed brilliantly on the dyno). I wanted a 472 stroker, full roller, dual quads and 10.5:1 that would run on pump gas and that is exactly what I got. I wanted a reasonably priced, custom engine and that is exactly what I got. Bring your Hemi or dream to Eddie and you will get exactly what you want. And, Eddie is an excellent communicator. He answered all my questions(before, during and after the build), sent regular updates with pictures, and provided a complete pictorial and video record of the build. Finally, you will be amazed at his attention to detail, and that matters when building a Hemi"...
My Hemi is now in a 1969 Plymouth GTX, running like a dream, and impressing Hot Rod buddies and fans at car shows.
...My 528 crate Hemi broke a valve and the engine seized. I desperately looked for a specialist to tell me why. I checked with a local Hemi great in PA. but it would be 6-12 months maybe! I needed answers and it fixed now. I found Hemihaines on the web and contacted Eddie. Although I was skeptical, I shipped the Hemi to him in Florida. In three days, he was able to tell me why it failed and how he could resolve the problems. I found Eddie to be very easy to work with offering options and allowing my input during the entire process. I received weekly updates on the progress and shortly thereafter, my well packed crate arrived. I did not want to remove it from the crate it was so beautiful!! As he predicted, it would fire right up with no adjustment needed and I have had no problems. I am very satisfied with the entire process which included all the receipts, old parts returned, Dyno sheets, photos and videos of the whole process. I am very glad I found and used Hemihaines....
"First off.... Let me just say....WOW!!!!
Eddie Haines is Awesome and is truly ONE of a KIND. His attention to detail and professionalism is unmatched as far as I'm concerned. All you have to do is set foot in his shop and you will see that he takes pride in what he does! He rebuilt/restored my 426 Hemi for my 68 GTX and I could not be happier with the end result. From day one when I delivered my engine to his shop and I met Eddie in person I knew that I had made the right choice. He was great at keeping me updated during the entire process with weekly Emails and pictures, and always willing and ready to answer any and all questions I had. The documentation he provided me with at the end of the project was simply amazing, Hundreds of pictures and also several videos of the machine work and initial start up along with the Dyno results. His customer service is absolutetly Amazing and Greatly Appreciated.
After my father and I left his shop with the completed project, and a hugh smile on my face, I was hoping to have another Hemi project someday to do, because Eddie Haines is the kind of person that after having the pleasure of dealing with him, you will want to do so again and again!! And I sure do Love driving my GTX now and listening to that Hemi engine"!!!
Thanks Again Eddie....
"Eddie, I received my Blown Alcohol 392 Hemi this week and I would like to thank you for your incredible service. I could not be more pleased with the work you have done for me. At first, I hesitated to send my engine out of state especially after having a bad experience in my own back yard with a do-it all engine builder. I'm glad I made the step in the right direction in choosing you to build my Hemi. The experience of working with you was a total pleasure. You are fair, honest, reliable and a Hemi engine perfectionist. Please feel free to give my phone number to anyone who may have any questions about your services".

"Eddie, I would like to thank you for the fantastic Hemi engine you have built for me. Eventhough I live on the other side of the world, communication was excellant and the frequent updates were very useful. Eddie has built me a Hilborn Injected 392 Hemi with aluminum heads using an A-1 casting block, which will power my 1941 Plymouth coupe. It's an absolute masterpiece and has exceeded my expectations in every way! There's no disappointments when you deal with Eddie! If anyone has any doubts whatsoever about Hemihaines, please feel free to contact me anytime. Thank you once again Eddie. Kind regards".
"Eddie, I would like to thank you for the wonderful job you did rebuilding and restoring my 426 Hemi Engine. Your web site clearly shows you attention to detail which allowed me to drive 1,000 miles with confidence. I couldn't have been happier with your commutation skills and weekly updates. Your turned my load of parts into an engine looks like it just came out of the factory. As a matter of fact it looks just like your wife said, like a piece of art. Thank you so much for doing such a great job for me. I would like to give my name and contact information to anyone who is thinking of having their Hemi restored by you, I would love to talk with them about my experience with Hemihaines.com, Sincerely,"
"Dear Eddie, I would like to thank you for the wonderful job you did rebuilding and restoring my 426 Hemi Engine. Our business was conducted from a very long distance, and I couldn't have been happier with your commutation skills and weekly updates. I felt very comfortable with my decision to send the motor 3000 miles to have you do the work, and WOW what a job you did. My engine looks like it just came out of the factory. As a matter of fact it looks like a piece of art. Thank you so much for doing such a great job for me. If you would like to give my name and contact information to anyone who is thinking of having you do their engine, I would love to talk with them about my experience with Hemi Haines. Sincerely,"
"....After spending 1 hour on the website I could see that all the descriptive solutions and pictures told me that this is "THE MAN" who will build my Hemi. I was an instant Hemi fan realizing that he could turn my dream and wishes of a Blown Hemi into reality. This happened after a few days of planning and exchanging Emails. Eddie is 100% Honest and convinced me of the choice and design of the engine and earned my trust, since I lived in Norway. Three months later, we met in his shop and started up my project. A wonderful experience of sound, style and compliments of chrome was just the Jewel I wanted for my 33' Rod. With best wishes and future recomendations, ...."

"Eddie, My involvement with the 426 Hemi began 40 years ago being fortunate enough to have owned and raced one of the now famous factory race cars during the Golden age of drag racing . After much research I chose Hemihaines to build my Hemi and to once again recreate the sights and sounds of that era for me . Every one has their reason for their project be that racing or restoration but one thing these engines are is a special thing , and your attention to detail and your true sense of pride in workmanship is in my opinion without compare . These projects are clearly to you the same as the Mona Lisa was to its creator . Thanks again,"
....."To date, Eddie Haines has built two Hemi engines for me. First, a complete 2007 cross ram, aluminum headed, streetable drag engine and second, a complete rebuild of a 1969 Hemi engine that once belonged to Don Garlits himself. Eddie did a magnificent job on both of my engines and I am extremely happy with the work that he has done for me. I find Eddie to be very, very meticulous and pays attention to detail and correctness no matter how small. I find him to be very honest and straight forward, as well as willing to help in any way possible. His knowledge of Hemi engines is nothing short of outstanding and coupled with his desire for perfection can only result in an excellent Hemi engine. I will be going back to Eddie shortly for a rebuild on a highly prized 1966 all numbers matching Hemi Charger. I know and trust Eddie to do the very best job possible. I highly recommend Eddie Haines.".....
...." I have known Eddie Haines for several years and have personally observed his overall attention to detail and meticulous attention to Hemi and other engine assemblies. Eddie throughly researches his customers' requests and consistently delivers performances and quality. This is true of his restoration or muscle build up of a 426 style Hemi. Further, he applies the same dedication and "know-how" to hot rod a first generation style Hemi whether it's a 241- 392"....
...."We bought a 426 Hemi, built by Eddie for our 69 Road Runner. He is the most Professional, "stick to the word" person, I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with!! After purchasing the engine, we have overwhelmed him with questions. He is always quick to answer and takes the time necessary to be sure you understand what he is saying. We will be purchasing another Hemi from him in the future for our 65 Plymouth"....

...."When I first met Eddie years ago, I stopped by because I was watching him restore a '69 GTX. The job he did on the whole car was nothing less than astonishing. Perfectly straight body work. Perfect paint, but all of that was nothing compared to his engine work. I started coming around to see him on a daily basis to observe him being a very focused person. When he builds these Hemi engines he is nothing short of a perfectionist. The way he measures all the components for proper fit, over and over, is more than I have found at even the best machine shops. Nothing less than perfect was ever acceptable. It is nothing that I have ever seen in my 60 years in the automotive industry. Yet, this guy does not do this for a living. It is his passion. Every engine fires right up within 2 turns and never has an issue. He knows all the latest technology in assembly techniques. I had him build my 455 Olds engine because I knew he was qualified and I knew it would be right and I would not hesitate to have him build another one for me"....
...."A decision was made. A 56' -354 Hemi, tri-5 heads, with 3x2 carbs built on the order of a 50'/60's resto-rod look, would be perfect! A 400-450Hp, 10:1 compression, lots of torque, controllable, reliable everyday driver Hemi was the target. All of the internal components were going to be the best in the available, built with exacting detail and precision by an experienced builder.
It didn't matter where the Hemi would be shipped to be built, but the builder had to be top-notch! Over time, Mike Chrisman, Junior Thompson, Dick Landy, Eddie Haines and Gene Adams were some of the builders contacted. I wanted a builder with experience, workmanship, exactness to detail, dedication, and pride to build the Hemi. Eddie Haines filled these pre-requisites and excepted the Hemi project.
Eddie's resourses, contacts and experience handled the issues with expedient success! His exactness to details was amazing! He would check and re-check clearances, specifications and tolerances of the original components, machine shop work, and all new installed parts. He documented everything as found originally found and as left after assembly.
The engine assembly went well. I received a phone call from Eddie, and we made the trip to Florida to witness the Hemi engine start-up. The Hemi started and ran flawlessly!! I am the proud owner of a "Hemihaines" built engine.
Oh, I received digital pictures of the Hemi being assembled, A copy of the engines clearances, specifications, tolerances and a video of the break-in.
An Eddie Haines Hemi will exceed your expectations"!!!!
... The build was beyond my expectations in every way, from problem solving abilities with the mounting system for accessories, to smoothing the block and heads or the professional paint finish applied to the motor. All along the way you kept me informed as to the status of the build, problems you were encountering and solutions to solve the same. Your attention to details borders on obsession or is that a passion for your love of all things HEMI.
What sold me on choosing you was your website and the detailed steps involved and steps illustrated along the way. It showed to me a commitment to deliver the best in class on whatever motor you are preparing. I particularly liked the fact you accepted work in order of deposit and worked on only one motor at a time... giving it your full attention. Please add me to the testimonials as a client and I look forward to having you restore my 55' 300C 331 Hemi project next, back to factory original along with the carbs as well.
The motor is beautiful. Everyone I show it to just drops their jaw and says, "For Real". It's pretty cool! Thank you...
...."Eddie, I must thank you for bringing back to life, my old GTX once again. The 426 Hemi engine that you sold to myself, was way beyond a crate motor I could have ordered from Mopar. The extras you put into this engine would have cost myself $$$. I have just entered a car show in my area and the talk was, "where did you find that Hemi"? Of coarse I said, "It was built by Mr Eddie Haines himself". When the show was ending, the people around my car, ready and waiting for myself to start it up was, Huge. All they wanted was to hear this Hemi engine run. Thanks to Eddie and his great knowledge of Hemi engines, my dream came true and when people around my 68X were shocked to here that crisp sounding GTX sound so good. THANKS EDDIE, MY DREAM CAME TRUE"....
...."When I started this project I thought I had an almost running motor that just needed some going over. In the same day that I graduated from college, my wife and I drove back from Orlando with the Hemi in the back of my truck,to Eddies house. The initial look revealed catastrophic results. The engine had been left out in the weather, had bad water damage, and poor machining from the previous owner. Needless to say, I thought that my dreams of having a Hemi were out the door.
Eddie calmed me down and even offered to look further into the engine to give a better diagnosis on the spot, mind you this was a Saturday night, and we were there until 10pm. Eddie and his wife were extremely courteous and welcoming even on our first meeting. I was delighted with how pleasant the service and how knowledgeable Eddie was about the Hemi history. Once the parts list were set, the machining took place shortly after, and from then on, it was a great surprise every week with emails showing the progress of my Hemi. Eddie went throught great lengths to help me, not only buying the right parts, but also understanding every process of the build. The day we fired the engine, it was a surreal experience. After seeing the transition, from a dead rusty motor to a Fire Power breathing Blown 331 Hemi monster!
Overall, the building of my Hemi, was a wonderful learning experience. It not only furthered my knowledge on Hemi's and how they function, but I also made a great friend"....

Looking to restore a WEDGE Engine or HEMI engine for one of the popular MOPAR cars during the 1950's through 1970's? You've found the right man for the job. Give Eddie a call to discuss your restoration or repair project. For over 25 years, Eddie has been excited about restoring the original beauty and performance of HEMI engines and American Muscle Cars. The HEMI engine was popular in production cars during the 50's and early 70's in cars and also in racing as one of the fastest engines on the market. Manufacturers such as Chrysler (FirePower Engine), DeSoto (FireDome Engine), Dodge (Red Ram Engine), and Plymouth were in aggressive competition during what is often called the "Horsepower Wars". The Chryster 426 HEMI Engine was so fast in 1964 that in 1965 it was banned from NASCAR races. HEMI Engines have a hemispherical combustion chamber that was great for efficient airflow and torque. The name HEMI has become synonymous with BIG and POWERFUL and these types of engines helped to shape the state of the art in racing and street cars during their time on the market.
Are you restoring a classic car that requires a HEMI or WEDGE engine under the hood, but yours is non-functioning, rusted out and a fraction of its former self? HEMI Haines has seen them all and can help you restore the engine or build a new one that will be to factory specs to make your car the ultimate replica and in like-new condition. Whether its a Barracuda, Charger, Road Runner, Coronet, Challenger, GTX, or another American Muscle Car, HEMI haines can bring it back to its original glory with a restored HEMI Engine that runs like new.
